Just an entry to get me past Christmas

ditto to title

Actually just procastinating as I really need to be studying for a mid-term this week. Hoping to go snowboarding with my wife this week-end to release some pent up energy. It's a frosty night way below zero in Ontario tonight and thankfully I get to stay inside.

Merry Christmas

A Merry Christmas to all from our house to yours!

Christmas Pic 06

As for a little update on our lives...

Heidi is very happy with her new glasses. They were new this morning. Oh and I got some too but I wasn't as worked up about it.

glasses

Last night was the school Christmas program...Heidi's Grade 4 class did very well as did the other classes and the senior choir. It was a reminder that some young children have been blessed with a very good set of lungs.

Thursday was Heidi's piano recital at our house. She currently has four piano students and they played a variety of Christmas music.

As for me this is my Christmas present to myself. One minor detail it's 1/18 scale and is destined for the mantle and not the road.  So sad...

A little update on our most recent trip. We flew to Thunderbay and enjoyed a couple days with Devon, seeing where he lives and works right now. Hiked up a mountain overlooking the city on Thurs. with the boys club. We had a good time travelling with Jay and Monika, way to go WestJet.  We also went to MN for a few days to attend Janine and Jeremy's wedding. Congratulations and lots of happiness to them! We then drove back to T-Bay and spent another day and a half there and flew home with the addition of Shannon.

PS With Laurier Football winning on Saturday they are in their fourth consecutive Yates Cup (Ontario Championship) Hopefully it'll be their third straight win of the Yates.

Well, looking at that last post you'd think I completely abandoned the Xanga world. Happy Thanksgiving to all...that's right, it's already past, not coming up in a month.

Lots has happened in the past few months I guess...Enjoyed camping with friends in Mackinaw in July, camping with at least 3 sides of the family, a couple weddings attended in OH, IN, and a bunch at home and rest does not come to mind at the moment. Looking forward to visiting Devon in T-Bay shortly and helping to marry one of my favourite girl cousins in MN. Not that I'll have a lot to do with it mind you.

Work has been crazy for the last couple months so the computer and xanga was not where I usually spend my evenings. Evenings at home, what are those anyway. Seem like a distant memory. Some bright person tried to steal my bike a few weeks ago, the Honda that is. Screwdriver into the ignition is not the way to make my day. Golden Hawk football's regular season winning streak of almost 3 years was also stopped on that day so all in all it was pretty crummy. But the bike is all fixed up again, the Hawks just pounded the former leaders in Ontario football (McMaster) to regain first, hockey is started again and I got to be home with my wife a bit this week so things are looking up. Not sure if all the snow showers in the last few days have been a blessing or not. Sadly I may be confined to four wheels again very shortly unless something changes. It would be a great time for that Indian summer thing to start.

Well it's been awhile so here's a little update of what's been going on. We went on chorus tour at the end of May with our church. We really enjoyed our week-end in IN and OH and all the "young ones" that were along did really well. We gave four programs that week-end and will be doing five more in ON. Heidi has been busy finishing up the last week of school and is looking forward to her holidays. I've been busy with several things including a business course that I'm taking this summer. It's been interesting although one doesn't always feel like doing school work when it's nice and sunny outside. I've also enjoyed riding to work instead of driving. Makes life interesting although I've about had my quota of gory accident stories from people. I did my first oil change on Sat. so now I feel like a mechanic too (very exciting...I know).

Between chorus tour and helping people get married this spring I didn't get to golf at all until this week. I had a great round (great being fun, not my score) on Saturday with Ray, Kyle and Justin at the annual Gospel Echoes tournament. Don't know if the group in front of us appreciated being "almost hit" as often as they were. Mostly from Kyle's monster drives. Today I'm playing in my work tournament with friends from there. Don't think we'll be able to pull off a win as it's often -15 to -17 that wins it. However who can complain about a day of work at the golf course.

til next time...

PS twas a sad night last night. Who would've thought the Stanley Cup would reside in the middle of redneck country. The Oilers coulda, shoulda but couldn't quite do it. Hockey's over til September.
